After rain comes the sun, they say. And after sun, perhaps rain doesn’t come for a while, as was this summer, but when it comes, it does so with force and vigour that makes the difference to anything green seeking just that. It bends and burdens, but reinvigorates and revitalizes at the same time, thus, is welcome – until next time.

Some of the flowers I grow in my little country garden pictured here after that rain: Helianthus annuus ‘Claret’; Gladiolus murielae; Dahlia ‘Jowey Winnie’; seedheads Nigella damascena; Chrysanthemum; Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Apricotta’; Dahlia ‘Mister Frans’; Dahlia ‘Bishop’s Children’; seedheads Agapanthus africanus.
